ideation to conception
I was tasked with producing the gaming headset in our group project. Ideation began with producing rough sketches of different geometric shapes that could be incorporated into the design. As a group, we decided on incorporating the wooden accent and gold plating with the off white plastic body. Further refinement was done on the headset design to ensure a design that was suitable for gaming, and the modern, chic style was upheld.
Manufacturing considerations
Further research was conducted when specifying the materials to be used for our products. Using CES (Cambridge Engineering Selector), materials were specified with the appropriate mechanical properties. With the Solidworks model completed and materials applied, FEA analysis was conducted on the headphones components to test for its manufacturing feasibility.
