Basis is a minimalist air purifier designed for architects' offices, offering a refined alternative to conventional models. Its clean form and strong aesthetic identity elevate the workspace while improving air quality.
THE DESIGN PROCESS.
This project consisted of iterations of prototyping and refinement to achieve the final fully-working prototype of the air purifier. The model was required to comprise of four parts:
• 3D printed casing
• Aluminium laser cut chassis
• Electric fan
• HEPA filter
FORMING THE PROTOTYPE MODELS.
This involved careful planning and iterations of designing through Solidworks to 3D printing the parts using a FDM printer for the outercase and the plasma cutter to cut the aluminium chassis. The final model was assembled through drilling holes into the chassis for the screws and soldering screw inserts into the casing.
